Fueling Productivity!

The production concept was to recreate a “Day in the Life” of a student attending the JDC case competition. Working in shifts of 15+ hours, we had three different camera operators and two directors follow students from the moment they woke up (3:30 a.m. some days) to the moment they finally got to bed (around 2:30 a.m.).

Using a variety of cameras from the Panasonic 3000 to the AF100, we got a true “run and gun” feel of what it is like to be a part of such an amazing event.

A BIG thanks to those involved in this year’s JDC West for setting up such an amazing weekend as well as Lindisfarne’s Brittany Black for brushing up on her acting skills!

Using the Canon 7D and the Panasonic AF100, Lindisfarne helped set the mood for the event by filming a music video to a slightly altered version of Young MC’s Bust A Move at the Cross Cancer Institute(now  well over 7000 Youtube hits!)

Lindisfarne also sponsored the kickboxing portion of Bust a Move and produced a short video to kick off the session. Using the Panasonic 3000, we decided to create a hype video in a boxing ring with Lindisfarne’s very own Colleen and Brittany, who both have never boxed a day in their lives. If you look closely, Brittany sucker-punches Colleen in the jaw….

(The two are currently not speaking to one another … but we expect that will change once Colleen’s jaw heals!)

Lindisfarne Productions took home some shiny new trophies at the 2012 Advertising Club of Edmonton (ACE) Awards Gala.

Warner Girls Hockey School won 3 awards: Best Video Production, Best Not for Profit Video and Best of Show. We were lucky to work with Incite Marketing and Producer Extraordinaire Neil Grahn to create such a memorable piece.

The judges found the program “a complete and well-told story”. The multiple wins were a great way to get the attention of some of the high-end advertising agencies and marketing companies in Edmonton and Region. We expect to hear from them soon!

Our trophies now have a special home on Simon’s desk … next to the Lindisfarne Mead!

At these events medical students have the opportunity to learn medical skills taught by rural physicians and get a feel for medical practice in a rural community.

Students sign up for these tours through the RPAP-supported Rural Medical Interest Groups at the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary. Medical Skills Weekends are a great way to encourage students to relocate to rural communities after graduating and enrich their medical careers and quality of family life.

Using the Panasonic AF100, our production team interviewed over 15 students from Calgary and documented their experiences over the weekend.  The weekend kicked off   with a welcoming dinner from the community, a tour of the local health care facility and hands-on learning experiences. (Ask the med student who helped deliver a baby!)

A big thanks to all the Calgary students and the wonderful people from the communities who let us tag along for the weekend!

The shoot included aerial shots of Warner, time on ice with the girls, and interviews with the individuals closely involved with this extraordinary girls’ hockey team.

Call us and take our new AF-100 out for a test drive!

The shoot involved 3 synchronized Panasonic HPX3000 cameras, so that the final product will easily show all the different angles of all the different poses demonstrated. We also incorporated dolly shots to add a sense of flowing movement to the video.

The tricky part was finding an appropriate location. We wanted the backdrop of the yoga video to be interesting but not so much that it might distract viewers practicing with the video.

Our clients, Yellow Pebble Media, found an incredible location: LubeXX’s Head Office, which was recently renovated using wood from an old grain elevator, giving the building a rustic, cabin-like feel. Perfect for a yoga video!

Megan, the star of the video, was amazing to watch. She had to repeat each pose at least 3 times… sometimes more. Over the two days, she probably spent more than 16 hours in yoga positions. She perfectly executed each and every pose, and never once complained of being tired. This woman is a machine! An extremely flexible machine.

We just might take up yoga. Starting tomorrow.

Our goal was to make the homes look as beautiful onscreen as they do in real life, so we decided to shoot on our Panasonic HPX3000. This Gold Standard camera captures Master-Quality high definition video and Cinema-Quality images in full-raster 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4:2:2 10-bit sampling using the advanced AVC-Intra codec (Translation for non-tech types: “incredibly wicked/clear images”). Dolly shots added fluid movement to each show, as various aspects of each home were highlighted.
